Eat Your Heart out: Muddy Buddies

Since I quit my job, I have a lot of time on my hands. I can think of a million ways to spend all that time, but none better than making deliciously unhealthy treats. So, today I made Muddy Buddies. Before I found this recipe I had always heard it called "Puppy Chow" which never sat well with me because, well, I don't really like to eat dog food and I don't like to eat food that shares a name with dog food.

Anyway, this is probably the easiest thing you'll ever make. In fact, the hardest part is probably trying to resist the urge to eat it all before your husband gets home. ;)

Enjoy!

Kidnapped

Yesterday I kidnapped Mic for an impromptu picnic in the park. The weather has been amazing lately so I thought we should take full advantage of it. We ate in the park where we got married almost one year ago and it seemed extra special to sit at that picnic table with my big, round belly, overlooking the tree under which we were married.

As I stood under that tree eleven months ago reciting my vows I never could have dreamed that in a short time we'd be expecting parents and home-owners. I've been blessed beyond belief and I'm so grateful.

I've been especially selfish of our time together lately, probably because I know soon we won't have quite as much for just the two of us, but I don't think he minds the extra attention. ;)

Waiting

The weather is changing and it's very welcome at the Sparlin home. The cooler air is just another sign that our little girl will be here soon. We have weekly visits with our midwife now and the idea that I could go into labor at any time is soo exciting. That's her assistant taking my blood pressure at our home visit a couple of weeks ago.

Everything is in order for Emmy's arrival and last Friday was my last day of work so now, I wait. Thank goodness for Hulu, right?

Over It

The waddling. The itchy belly. Kankles. The two trips to the bathroom every night. The not-being-able-to-reach-my-feet-so-Michael-has-to-put-my-shoes-on-for-me. Kankles. Being tired all the time. Kankles.

I'm over it.

Hello, last three weeks. I can't wait until you're gone.

A Baby Shower

Some of our dear friends hosted a baby shower for us a few weeks back. There were games, presents and tons of sugary goodness. We had so much fun.

These two made it all happen. A girl couldn't ask for better friends.
