Honeymooners

We honeymooned in Chicago, one of our favorite cities. We love Chicago for it's architecture and rich history (and the shopping, of course). It's such a lovely place to explore with the one you love. We found ourselves lost in an old neighborhood, drawing in the sand on the beach, taking the train everywhere and stopping every few minutes to kiss.

We documented the trip in film, Mr. Won't use anything else. The split-frame photos are from my camera, I thought it was full-frame, shows how much I know.

The only photo of us (kind of) together

The Museum of Science and Industry. So neat!

Have you ever been to Chicago? What did you do there?

Only Two

These last three months have gone by so quickly. It seems like just last week I was saying, "Five months is plenty of time to plan a wedding." Well, we're less than two months away now and we've only just started with our serious planning.

I've only attended two weddings my whole life: My sister's, when I was 10 and my brother's, when I was 14. It's safe to say that going into this, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. But with a lot of help from Michael, our family and friends, we're making progress.

The hardest part of planning a wedding is knowing that we're not only planning it for ourselves, but also for the 60+ guests that will be attending. It's a lot of pressure for two people who hate making a spectacle of themselves.

All that being said, I couldn't be more excited about getting married. The idea of spending the rest of my life with the person who makes me happier than I ever could've imagined still feels surreal, and I consider myself to be one of the luckiest girls ever.

Here's a little sneaky peak of what we've been working on/planning.

If you plan to make a lot of the decorations for your wedding, I highly recommend the book Handmade Weddings by Euncie and Sabrina Moyle and Shana Faust. It has so many ideas to suit your taste, from organic minimalist to modern classic.

Love, Stephanie

Day Three

Michael just got the last roll of film from our trip developed. We spent the last night in a beautiful cabin in the middle of nowhere and went on a trail ride the next morning.

I hope to eventually take more photos of things that are happening here but I only have a very old digital camera that has no USB cable. Ugh. Michael has plenty of very nice cameras but they're all film and we all know how time-consuming that can be. So the goal is to save up and buy a decent camera to show you all the wonderful things going on (like the banana peppers in the garden starting to grow!)

Changes

Hi there!
Its been over a year since my last post. I knew that would happen. Luckily, I'm back and I have plenty to blog about!
My hiatus lasted through my twenty-second birthday, Halloween, Christmas, a blizzard, two camping trips, a move and an engagement.
I'm happy to be back and excited to share all the new things in my life.

Here are a few photos to get you caught up.

Love, Stephanie
